SPF 30 is good enough.
Yes, SPF 50 blocks slightly more UVB, but the real-world difference is tiny.
SPF 30 filters about 97% of UVB rays. SPF 50 filters about 98%. That extra 1% sounds nice, but in practice you’re probably not applying enough sunscreen to get the labeled protection anyway. Most people use half the recommended amount, so the actual difference between 30 and 50 is basically nothing.
What matters more: apply generously, reapply every two hours, and don’t skip days. A bottle of SPF 30 that you actually use is better than SPF 50 you hoard.
The marketing works, but your skin doesn’t care about the label.
