SPF lip balm works, but you have to reapply.
Yes, but only if you actually use it properly.
Most of us swipe on a little SPF lip balm in the morning and call it done. That’s not enough. Lip balm gets licked off, eaten, wiped away. The protection doesn’t last more than an hour or two.
The SPF number is real—if you apply a thick, even layer and reapply after eating or drinking. Same rules as sunscreen on your face. Lips burn easily and skin cancer on lips is no joke.
So yes, SPF lip balm is better than nothing. But “better than nothing” isn’t the same as “enough.” Reapply every two hours if you’re outside. Keep one in your pocket.
Your lips will thank you when you’re 60.
