Stack by day, not by size

Stack your lunch boxes by day of the week, with the next meal on top.

The whole problem with lunch boxes in the fridge is that they become a blind pile. You know there’s food in there, but you can’t remember which container holds which meal, so you end up digging through everything at 7am.

Fix that by assigning each container to a day and stacking them in order: Monday’s box on top, Friday’s on the bottom. Grab the top box, eat, repeat. No decisions, no digging, and the oldest food always gets eaten first automatically.

Two rules that make this work. First, clear containers only — if you can’t see the food, you’ll forget it exists. Second, don’t stack more than four high. Anything taller turns into a game of Jenga every time you open the door, and something always ends up crushed.

If you meal prep irregularly, same idea: stack by date, oldest on top. One shelf, one stack, done.

The goal is to never open the fridge and wonder what’s for lunch.
