Stack vertically, not horizontally

The best technique is to mount your key rack and mail sorter directly above the slim shoe cabinet, forming a single vertical column.

When you spread these three things out across a small entryway wall, you just create cluttered real estate. A shoe cabinet on the floor, a mail sorter to the left, a key rack to the right — now you’ve used up a whole wall and it still feels busy. Stack them instead. The shoe cabinet anchors the base, then the mail sorter goes above (roughly waist height for easy access), then the key rack slightly above that (eye level). Everything is within arm’s reach, nothing competes for floor space, and the eye sees one tidy unit instead of three scattered things.

Just make sure the shoe cabinet is shallow enough — 12 inches max — so you’re not blocking the walkway. And use a key rack that doesn’t require drilling into the cabinet’s top (unless you want permanent alignment). If your mail sorter has a little shelf for loose change or a plant, even better. Future You won’t have to dig for keys under yesterday’s flyers.
