Stay away from the mist zone.
The paved main path at the upper overlook. That’s where you want to be.
The closer you get to the falls, the wetter everything gets. Spray makes stone and wood railings slick, and algae grows fast on damp surfaces. Toddlers slip on dry pavement—wet is a nightmare. The upper overlook usually has dry, textured concrete and solid railings that aren’t coated in moisture.
Lower decks or “splash zones” look exciting but are constantly wet. Those railings might feel sturdy, but your kid’s grip, and your grip on them, is worse with water. The path itself is a hazard.
If the park has a stroller-friendly route that avoids the direct spray, take that. It’s usually the safest. You’re there for a nice view, not a rescue mission.
