Stop putting wet and dry in the same room
You fix soggy bento food by creating physical barriers, not by hoping for the best. Crackers go soggy because fruit breathes moisture into the same air, and no amount of careful stacking changes that.
The easiest move is to buy a pack of silicone muffin cups or small sauce containers. They cost a few bucks, they’re reusable, and they instantly give you separate “rooms” inside your box. Paper liners work fine for one-time use, too — just don’t use the flimsy ones for anything wet.
If you’re out of cups, use food as the barrier. A big lettuce leaf, a slice of cheese, or even a layer of dry rice crackers between fruit and crackers does the job. Not as tidy, but it works.
And one rule: always pack the wet stuff in something sealed. Fruit, dips, pickles — they go in a small airtight container, and then the rest of the box stays dry. That’s the whole trick. Doesn’t matter if the box is fancy or a cheap takeout container.
Future You deserves better than a sad, wet cracker.
