Store swimwear in a dark place — not hanging in a sunny window.

Keep swimwear out of sunlight, period. UV rays are what fade the colors, and they don’t stop just because you’re indoors. A window-bathed bathroom or a drying rack in direct sun will bleach your suit just as fast as the beach will.

Rinse your suit in cool water after swimming to remove chlorine or salt, then gently squeeze (never wring) and lay flat to dry in the shade. Once dry, fold it and put it in a drawer or a closet — not on a hook where morning light hits it. If you must hang it, use an opaque garment bag.

Think of it like leaving a photograph in the sun. Won’t take long before it looks washed out.
