Sunscreen goes last.
After moisturizer. Sunscreen needs to sit on top of your skin to form a proper protective film. If you put moisturizer over it, you’re basically wiping the sunscreen around and breaking up that film — which means less protection.
Chemical and physical sunscreens both work best when they’re the last thing you apply. Let your moisturizer absorb for a minute or two first. Then sunscreen. Then makeup if you wear it.
The only exception is if your moisturizer already has SPF — but that usually isn’t enough protection on its own. Layering a dedicated sunscreen on top is still the move.
Don’t overthink it. Moisturizer first, sunscreen second. Your face will thank you later.
