Swimsuit sizes are a lie.
Ignore the number on the tag. Buy based on your measurements, not your usual clothing size.
Swimsuit sizing is wildly inconsistent across brands, styles, and even colors of the same suit. A size 8 in one brand might fit like a 6 in another, and that “high-waisted” bottom might land completely differently depending on your torso length. Your best bet: measure your bust, waist, and hips with a soft tape (no cheating), then compare to the brand’s specific size chart—not a generic one.
Even then, expect to send something back. The fabric, cut, and lining all change how it fits. Order two sizes of the same suit if you’re unsure, and return the one that doesn’t work. Returns are cheaper than keeping the wrong size and never wearing it.
Plan to return at least one. That’s just how online swimsuit shopping works.
