Syd Barrett’s Surprise Appearance at Pink Floyd’s Rome Show, 1968

On April 6, 1968, Pink Floyd played at the Piper Club in Rome as part of their first European tour without Syd Barrett. Halfway through the set, Syd walked onstage unannounced, picked up a spare guitar, and started playing along. The band—still adjusting to David Gilmour—was caught off guard but played through it.
