Take the mopping pad off right away.

Take the mopping pad off right away.

Yes, that’s the single most important thing.

The pad stays wet and dark sitting on the robot, which is prime real estate for mold. After every mopping run, pull it off, rinse it with soapy water, and let it air dry completely before the next use. Hang it somewhere with airflow—don’t just lay it flat on the counter. If you have a spare pad, swap them so one is always bone dry.

Some people throw the pad in the laundry weekly. That works fine too. Just never, ever put a damp pad back on the robot and let it sit for days.

Moldy pads smell terrible and smear bacteria around your floors. This takes thirty seconds and saves you from buying a new pad every month.
