Yes, you can check with Task Manager or CPU-Z — both work fine.

In Task Manager, go to the Performance tab, click Memory, and look for “DDR4” or “DDR5” next to “Form Factor.” That’s it. CPU-Z’s Memory tab also shows the type under “Type” (DDR4 or DDR5). Soldered or not doesn’t change anything — the OS knows what it’s talking to.

If you want the command line nerd route, open a terminal and run wmic memorychip get memorytype. It spits back a number: 26 is DDR4, 34 is DDR5. But honestly, Task Manager is faster and doesn’t need extra software.
