Test pool water every other day in summer.
Every other day is fine. More often than that and you’re just chasing ghosts; less often and you risk turning your pool into a swamp.
Peak summer means more swimmers, more sun, more debris. The two biggest troublemakers are chlorine (it burns off faster in heat/UV) and pH (it drifts when people splash and sweat). Checking every 48 hours catches most problems before they grow legs. If you throw a big party or a storm rolls through, test the next morning.
Daily testing is overkill unless you’re running a commercial pool or your chemical balance is especially finicky. Twice a week works for off-season, but summer demands a little more attention.
Don’t overthink it. Keep a test kit near the pump, set a phone reminder, and you’re done. Your pool will thank you.
