Test your pool water twice a week during swim season.
At least twice a week. Once a week works okay if you’re diligent, but twice gives you a much better chance of catching problems before they turn the water green.
Pool chemistry shifts faster than you think. Sunlight burns off chlorine, swimmers introduce contaminants, and pH drifts with rain or splashing. Testing twice a week (say, Wednesday and Saturday) keeps things balanced so the water stays clear without sudden algae blooms or cloudy surprises.
If you use a salt system or have a lot of swimmers, bump it up to three times. And after a heavy rain or a big party—test the next day, no exceptions.
A ten‑minute habit saves you a week of scrubbing later.
