The 1975’s 2019–2020 “Notes on a Conditional Form” tour (often lumped under the “Music for Cars” era) featured a massive, 200-foot-long inflatable penis that would rise from the stage floor during songs like “I Like America & America Likes Me.” It was intentionally absurd and confrontational, meant to critique censorship and conservative moral panics.
The reaction was split: fans ate it up, but local authorities in several Asian markets didn’t.
