The best burger lunch container is two separate containers
The best way to pack a burger for lunch is to keep the patty separate from the bun and assemble it when you’re ready to eat.
Soggy buns happen because hot meat gives off steam, and that steam has nowhere to go inside a sealed container. So let the patty cool a bit, pack it in its own small container or wrapped in foil, and keep the bun in a bag or separate box. You don’t need a fancy solution — just keep the hot thing away from the bread.
There are specialized burger containers with separate slots, and they work fine. They usually have a little compartment for the patty and a raised cradle for the bun, sometimes with vent holes. But they’re not magic. They do the same thing a second Tupperware does, and they take up more drawer space.
If you really want to pack it assembled, toast the bun and put a layer of lettuce or cheese between the patty and the bottom bun. That buys you time, but not the whole morning. The separate-until-lunch method is the one that actually works.
Future you gets a real burger, not a sad sponge.
