The best frozen-entree lunch box is a rigid container, not a soft bag

For whole frozen burritos or taco bowls, the best lunch box is a rigid, flat-topped container like the Pyrex Simply Store 4-cup — skip the soft insulated bag.

Soft totes are the problem. They squash the burrito, the lid bulges, and then everything gets rearranged in your backpack. A rigid container stacks cleanly, protects the food, and usually doubles as the bowl you microwave in.

My go-to is the Pyrex Simply Store 4-cup. It’s roughly 7 x 5 x 2.5 inches, so a standard frozen burrito sits flat (or diagonal) without forcing the lid up, and there’s room for a little side if you keep it modest.

If you’re mostly hauling frozen taco bowls, the Rubbermaid Brilliance 3.2-cup round is a better fit — about 6 inches across and deep enough that the bowl doesn’t dent the lid.
