The best leak-proof container for yogurt is a jar

The best leak-proof container for yogurt or sauce is a jar, not a lunch box.

I stopped trusting latch-and-gasket boxes after the third time yogurt ended up on my laptop charger. Even the “leak-proof” bento boxes rely on plastic clips and a rubber gasket that can pinch or shift. You think you closed it, you don’t, and the whole bag is a smoothie.

A screw-top jar fixes that. The threads press the seal evenly, every time. You can also eat straight out of it, which sounds obvious but is way more convenient than scooping yogurt out of an awkward compartment.

A wide-mouth Mason jar is the cheap, bulletproof option. If you want something smaller, any screw-top sauce jar or glass weck-style container works the same. Just skip the clips and buy something you can twist shut.

If you still want compartments, pack the yogurt or sauce separately in a jar and use a bento box for the dry stuff. That way you get both, without living on the edge.
