The cover of *Pre Pleasure* is a found photograph.

Jessica Pratt didn’t stage it. She found the image in a collection of vintage snapshots—probably from the 1950s or 60s—and it just fit. The woman floating in a pool, face half submerged, flower in the water. It’s mysterious, quiet, a little uneasy. That’s the whole album.

The photographer is unknown. The woman is unknown. Pratt has said she didn’t want to make up a story for it. She liked that it already felt like a memory that didn’t belong to her.

Sometimes the right image just exists already.
