The Discovery Center is a decent pit stop, not a destination.
It’s worth visiting only if you’re already at the gorge and need a break from the wind and mist. For kids under 10, the exhibits are fine but not mind-blowing. There’s a few hands-on things, some rocks and fossils, and a shortfilm. It’s small. You’ll be through it in 20 minutes if the kids are restless.
If you have Niagara Falls tickets and are spending the day, skip it. The Cave of the Winds or Maid of the Mist is way more fun for that age. But if you’re hiking the gorge trail and the weather turns, or you need bathrooms and a snack, it’s perfectly fine. Think of it as a bonus, not a main attraction.
Don’t plan a trip around it.
