The Division Bell Tour live album from The Later Years box set – different tracklist and added songs
The Later Years box set includes a two-CD live album called The Division Bell Tour, recorded during the 1994 tour. But it doesn’t just replicate a single concert. Instead, it’s a compilation drawn from multiple shows, so the track order is different from any actual setlist that night. For example, the real concert at Earls Court on October 20, 1994, opened with “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” and had “Astronomy Domine” in the second set. On the box set disc, “Shine On” is pushed to track three, and “Astronomy Domine” appears later.
What was added? Well, songs that weren’t in the standard tour setlist at all. “One of These Days” (a Meddle track not played on the 1994 tour), “A Great Day for Freedom”, and a cover of “Love Scene” (a Zabriskie Point outtake) were included. Also, an early instrumental version of “Marooned” appears as a bonus. The live album essentially patches together the best moments from the tour, swapping out some of the usual Dark Side staples to give fans something different from the Pulse release.
