The Escaped Pig and the Flaming Balloon: Pink Floyd's Infamous Pig Incidents

The most famous pig balloon mishap happened during the photo shoot for the Animals album cover in December 1976. The 40-foot inflatable pig broke loose from its tethers over Battersea Power Station and drifted across the skies of London, eventually landing in a farmer’s field in Kent. The farmer reportedly called police about a possible UFO, and the pig later sold at auction for nearly $3,000.
