The hill everyone ignores.
The one that’s a five-minute walk past the main overlook, the one that takes slightly more effort to reach but offers the same view. Crowds cluster at the first good spot. The second best spot is almost always empty.
Most people stop at the first place that looks good. They see a clearing, a bench, a view, and they plant themselves. Walk a little farther. Take the trail that looks less worn. Check Google Maps satellite view for a secondary peak or a bend in the trail that faces west just slightly differently.
You don’t need a secret spot. You just need to be willing to walk an extra few minutes while everyone else settles for good enough. That’s usually enough to have the sunset to yourself.
