The Lost Rick Wright Instrumental from the Division Bell Sessions: 'The Curse'

“The Curse” is a short instrumental recorded during the The Division Bell sessions, widely attributed to Rick Wright. It’s a floating, melancholic piano piece that captures his signature atmosphere—but it never made the final album, and later it also got passed over for The Endless River.

The track exists mostly as a bootleg and among collectors. When the band started compiling material for The Endless River in 2013, they did revisit the Division Bell outtakes, but “The Curse” wasn’t among the pieces they chose to develop or release. So it remains an unreleased ghost, a few minutes of Wright’s playing that still hasn’t found an official home.
