The Lost Verses of 'Cymbaline' from Pink Floyd's 1970 Paris Theatre BBC Concert

During that intimate 1970 Paris Theatre BBC session, Pink Floyd played a rare extended version of “Cymbaline.” After the usual “The telephone rings” section, Waters sang two additional verses that never made it onto any studio recording. The first: “The tea leaves are brown and the pages are torn / The future unwritten, the present stillborn / And the photograph’s fading, the colour’s all gone / The negatives never were loaded at all.” The second: “The velvet screen is silver and the spotlight is cold / The audience is restless and the show is growing old / And the magician is weary and his tricks are all done / He’s run out of rabbits and his hat is no fun.”
