The lyrics about saving a woman from a broken heart came straight from his imagination — a fictional character he invented to play with a falsetto delivery. The song’s falsetto vocals were actually a happy accident. Jagger had been fooling around in the studio while the band was working on the Emotional Rescue album, and producer Chris Kimsey suggested he keep that high, almost comical croon.
