The Stones’ 2014 ‘14 On Fire’ tour was a direct continuation of the ‘50 & Counting’ anniversary run, but they added two fresh gimmicks: a wild, open-air stage shaped like a lotus flower and setlists determined by fan vote. The lotus stage wasn’t just for looks — its 20 hydraulic petals could open and close during the show, shifting from a closed bloom to a fully extended canopy over the band. It was designed by production designer Patrick Woodroffe and architect Mark Fisher (longtime Stones collaborators), and it gave stadium shows a theatrical, almost organic feel.
