The Rolling Stones' 'Anybody Seen My Baby?' Video Starred Angelina Jolie
The young actress wandering through the 1997 video for “Anybody Seen My Baby?” is Angelina Jolie, then 22 and years away from becoming an Oscar-winning Hollywood icon. Director Samuel Bayer cast her partly because of her striking, untamed presence—she wasn’t yet a household name, but her intensity fit the song’s desperate, searching mood.
Bayer shot the video almost entirely on a Steadicam to create a continuous, dizzying sense of motion. The camera follows the protagonist (played by actor Chris Minor) as he weaves through a crowded club, always missing Jolie by inches. The technique was meant to mirror the disorientation of someone frantically hunting for a lost love, making the viewer feel as unsettled as the character. The one-shot approach also gave the video a raw, documentary-like urgency that matched the Stones’ ragged performance intercut with the chase.
