Yes, “A Doll’s House” was the working title for what became The Beatles (the White Album).
The band considered it because the album’s sparse, stripped-down sound felt like a reaction to the orchestral excess of Sgt. Pepper. “A Doll’s House” evoked a simple, almost toy-like quality. They eventually dropped it because another band (Family) had just released an album with the same name. So they went with the blank white cover and no title at all.
Not their most creative backup plan, but it worked out.
