The Year Pink Floyd Won the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music

Pink Floyd received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 1995. The ceremony took place on February 14, 1995, at London’s Earls Court Exhibition Centre, the same night The Division Bell won Best British Album.

The band performed “Wish You Were Here” during the show, with David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Rick Wright joined onstage by saxophonist Dick Parry. It was one of the first major awards Pink Floyd accepted as a trio after the departure of Roger Waters.
