Three Sisters Islands sit above the falls — they’re a quiet, scenic walk through the rapids upstream. Cave of the Winds is at the bottom of the American Falls, down on the gorge floor. You can’t walk from one to the other.

To get from Three Sisters to Cave of the Winds, you walk back onto Goat Island, take the elevator down to the gorge, and follow the wooden walkway. Same for Maid of the Mist — that boat launch is also back near the bottom of Goat Island.

Plan your visit so you do Three Sisters first or last. It’s a nice break from the crowds, but it’s not a shortcut to anything else.
