Track the Invite, Not the Attendance

For social Q1 habits that depend on another person’s availability, track your own action—the invitation or check-in—not whether they said yes.

You can’t control when a friend is free. If your tracker punishes you when they’re busy, you’ll start feeling guilty or you’ll stop tracking. Neither is useful.

Better to define the habit as “reach out to friend once a week.” A text, a call, a “you free Tuesday?"—that’s 100% in your control. If they’re available, great, you meet. If not, you still did your part. The tracker records your effort, not their calendar. It respects their boundaries too—no pressure on them to perform for your habit.

Your system should reinforce consistency, not create resentment.

This keeps the friendship genuine and your data honest.
