Try a forced reboot and diagnostics before assuming the MacBook Air logic board is dead.
Signs of a failing logic board are pretty obvious, but a lot of people jump to conclusions.
Common symptoms: random shutdowns or kernel panics where the screen goes gray and says you need to restart, display artifacts or flickering, trackpad or keyboard acting weird, battery not charging even though the system sees it, or the Mac just suddenly freezing dead. But these can also be caused by a bad battery, corrupt OS, or failing RAM (which isn’t upgradeable on Airs anyway, but still).
