Two songs on Animals were originally Roger Waters solo pieces.
Two, actually: “Dogs” and “Sheep” both started as Waters solo demos before becoming Pink Floyd album tracks. “Dogs” was originally called “You Gotta Be Crazy,” and “Sheep” was “Raving and Drooling.” Waters wrote them around 1974 for a solo project that never happened, then brought them to the band during the Animals sessions. So if you hear someone say only one song was recycled, they’re half-right — it’s both.
