Upgrading RAM won't void your warranty — but check for seals.
No, not as long as you don’t break anything. Most major prebuilt makers (Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS) allow you to add or replace RAM without touching the warranty. They support user-replaceable parts.
The real issue: “warranty void if removed” stickers on RAM slots are basically illegal in the US (thanks to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act). In practice, manufacturers don’t fight this. If you snap a DIMM slot or short a motherboard, that damage isn’t covered. But upgrading to 32GB? That’s normal maintenance.
One caveat: some boutique builders (like Falcon Northwest or Origin) might have different policies. If you’re worried, check their support page or just ask before you buy. But for Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc., you’re fine.
Just don’t use too much force. Future You will thank you.
