Upgrading to 32GB RAM won't void your prebuilt's warranty.

Not unless you physically damage something while swapping sticks. RAM upgrades are considered user-serviceable on almost every major prebuilt (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.). The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act in the US also protects you — they can’t void the whole warranty just because you opened the case and added a part.

The only real risk is if you snap a clip, bend pins, or install incompatible RAM that fries the motherboard. That damage won’t be covered. But the act of upgrading itself? Fine. Keep the original RAM in case you need to send it in for service — some manufacturers are weird about missing original parts.

If you’re nervous, check the service manual for your specific model. Most prebuilts have a little door or clearly labeled slots. Watch a YouTube video. You’re good.

Future you with 32GB will thank you.
