Urea cream and cheap cotton socks are all you need.
Cracked heels from winter boots fix the same way as any dry skin—exfoliate, moisturize, seal.
The real MVP is urea cream (10% to 20%). It both exfoliates dead skin and holds moisture in. Brands like Udderly Smooth, Gold Bond Intensive, or AmLactin work. You don’t need fancy foot masks.
Soak your feet in warm water (not hot) for ten minutes once a week. Use a pumice stone gently—no aggressive sanding, that makes things worse. Pat dry, slap on the urea cream, then put on a pair of cheap cotton socks. Sleep in them. Do this nightly for a week and the cracks soften.
Skip petroleum jelly alone—it seals but adds zero moisture. And stop wearing damp socks all day. That’s how the cracks started.
