Use a skillet, not the microwave

Skillet, with a splash of water or leftover sauce.

Microwave turns spaghetti into a sad, soggy mess because it heats unevenly and steams the noodles from the inside out. A skillet does the opposite—it brings the pasta back to life without cooking it further. Here’s how:

Get a nonstick or stainless skillet medium-low heat. Add your spaghetti and a tablespoon or two of water (or saved pasta water, or even a splash of sauce). Cover it with a lid and let it warm for 2–3 minutes, then toss it around. If it looks dry, add another splash. The steam rehydrates without turning the noodles to mush, and the direct heat keeps the texture right.

The only thing you lose is restaurant-level al dente, but that was gone after the first reheat anyway. This method gets you 90% of the way there in five minutes.

Skip the microwave. Your future self deserves better spaghetti.
