Pool floats are just thin PVC or vinyl. The trick is making the patch stick permanently, which means you need a chemical bond, not just a sticker. Most vinyl repair kits come with a small tube of adhesive and a few clear patches. That’s all you need.

Clean the hole area with rubbing alcohol. Dry it completely. Cut the patch into a rounded shape (corners peel up). Apply a thin layer of glue to both the patch and the float. Wait 30–60 seconds until it gets tacky, then press firmly. Let it cure for at least 12 hours before inflating.

I’ve repaired pool noodles, air mattresses, and inflatable kayaks this way. It holds for a season or two. If the tear is longer than an inch, you might need a larger patch and some extra glue. But for a standard pinprick or small rip, the kit does the job.

Skip the dollar store patches. Get the name brand like Aquaseal or Vinyl Repair Pro. Future You won’t wake up to a deflated float.
