Water-based ink is the real fix for bleeding highlighters
If your highlighter bleeds through thin notebook paper, the culprit is almost always the ink type, not the tip shape.
Alcohol-based highlighters (most classic Sharpie-style markers) soak straight through paper. Water-based or gel highlighters sit on the surface and dry without soaking through. That’s the main thing to check. Look for “water-based” or “gel” on the packaging, or pick a brand known for it — Zebra Mildliners and Stabilo Boss are good examples.
