Wet dusting beats dry dusting every time.
That’s the single biggest change you can make. Dry dusting with a feather duster, dry cloth, or Swiffer just kicks particles into the air, where they settle again a few hours later. A slightly damp microfiber cloth traps the dust instead.
Vacuuming with a HEPA filter is the second move. Run the vacuum first (low setting for hard floors), then damp-dust. You want to pick up what’s on the floor before wiping surfaces, or you’ll just push dirt around.
Wash bedding and curtains in hot water, and swap furnace filters if you haven’t in three months. Those are the high-impact items. Don’t bother with expensive sprays or “allergen” gadgets—good old soap and water work.
The rest is just moving stuff around.
