The Lil Anglers Character Rod is a gimmick, not a fishing rod

The character-themed rod looks fun in the package, but the cartoon branding does not help a kid actually catch fish. The mechanism is flimsy, and the novelty wears off after the first snag. Spend the same money on a simple, functional rod — the kid will have more fun actually fishing.
