The Ontario RAT Model 2 is the Honda Civic of pocket knives — reliable and unsexy

I’ve carried half a dozen pocket knives over the years and none of them hit the sweet spot quite like the RAT Model 2. It’s not flashy, it doesn’t have a dramatic opening mechanism, and nobody’s going to compliment it at the campsite. But it opens, it cuts, it locks, and it keeps doing all three without complaint. That’s the whole point of this knife — some tools are meant to be admired, but this one is meant to be used.
