The Snap Circuits SC-100 hooked us both — I might have learned more than the kid

Buy it. You might learn something too. The SC-100 is the entry-level Snap Circuits kit and it’s the perfect introduction — not so many pieces that it overwhelms, but enough projects that it stays interesting for weeks. What surprised me most was how much I got into it. I sat down to help with the first circuit and ended up working through ten more on my own while my kid had moved on to something else. The projects are genuinely clever — a flying fan, a light-controlled alarm, a water-activated warning system — and each one teaches a real principle about how electricity flows through a circuit. If you buy this for a seven-year-old, prepare to have to wrestle it away from them. And from yourself.
