The Woom 2 14-inch is the best beginner bike I've ever put a kid on
I winced at the checkout page. I’ll be honest about that. But after putting my kid on the Woom 2 14-inch, I can say with confidence it’s the best beginner bike I’ve ever put a kid on. It’s absurdly light — light enough that a four-year-old can pick it up off the ground after a fall — and the geometry is designed so they can actually reach the ground flat-footed, which is the single most important thing for learning confidence. The brakes are small enough for little hands to actually squeeze. The gears shift smoothly without jamming. It’s expensive, but it’s the kind of expensive where you buy it once and hand it down to the next kid.
