The self-emptying whoosh is loud — schedule around it

The self-emptying feature is great for your hands — you never touch a full dustbin — but it’s not silent. When the robot docks and the base station starts its emptying cycle, it makes a loud whooshing sound for about ten seconds. It’s the sound of a powerful vacuum pulling debris out of the robot and into a sealed bag, and it’s noticeably louder than the robot itself during cleaning.

On max suction mode, the robot runs at about 62dB — roughly the volume of a normal conversation or background music. The emptying whoosh is sharper and more sudden.

The fix is straightforward: schedule the emptying cycle for when it won’t bother anyone. Most apps let you set the robot to empty after cleaning or at specific times. If the vacuum runs during naptime or while you’re on calls, delay the empty cycle until after. The robot can hold its debris; it doesn’t need to empty immediately.
