The Roborock Q5's 2700 Pa makes it the better carpet cleaner

The Roborock Q5’s 2700 Pa of suction doesn’t sound huge compared to today’s 10,000+ Pa flagships, but against the Roomba j7’s roughly 2000 Pa, it’s a meaningful gap. The Q5 pulls more embedded dirt from carpet fibers and picks up pet hair more thoroughly. The j7 is a solid vacuum, but the Q5 simply cleans deeper. On hard floors both are fine — the difference shows up when you vacuum a rug that hasn’t been hit in a few days.
