Months of dust between emptying — the i3+ and j7+ make the case for self-emptying bases
The single best upgrade Roomba has made in years isn’t better suction or smarter mapping — it’s the self-emptying Clean Base. The i3+ and j7+ both come with it, and the difference it makes in daily life is bigger than you’d expect. Instead of emptying the dustbin every few days (which, with pets, can feel like a twice-daily chore), you empty the bag in the base station every couple of months. That’s it. The robot goes out, cleans, comes back, docks, and dumps its payload into a sealed bag that you barely think about until some app notification reminds you. It’s one of those convenience features that sounds minor until you have it, and then you’d never go back.
