Winterizing a salt pool isn't much different—just don't forget the cell.
It’s basically the same as any pool winterization, but the salt cell needs attention.
Clean the cell with a mild acid solution (or a purpose-built cleaner) before you close. If you leave it in place, it can get corroded by sitting water over winter. I’d remove it and store it somewhere dry—garage or basement. Some people leave it in and just unplug it, but I’ve seen too many cells crack. YMMV.
Everything else is standard: lower the water level below the skimmer, blow out the lines, add winterizing chemicals, cover it up. If you have a salt system with a flow switch, make sure that’s protected too.
Future you doesn’t want a cracked cell.
