Wooden walkways get slick when wet. Bring grip sandals.
Yes, they get slippery—especially if the wood is old, worn, or has any moss or algae growing on it. Even treated wood gets treacherously smooth when wet.
Some walkways have textured paint or grip strips, but many don’t. It’s not something you can rely on. Your best bet is to bring your own sandals with good rubber soles—think Crocs, Keens, or any water shoe with real tread. Flip-flops with slick bottoms are a disaster waiting to happen.
Don’t count on the walkway being safe. Plan for the worst and wear something that won’t let you wipe out.
Future you will appreciate not landing on your ass.
